Oscar Olën is a highly experienced Principal Consultant at Specialised Environmental Solutions, bringing over a decade of expertise in environmental management within the mining, aggregates, and cement production sectors in South Africa. Holding an Honours degree in Environmental Science and a B.Sc. in Zoology and Biochemistry from North-West University, he excels in ensuring regulatory compliance, implementing sustainable rehabilitation strategies, and developing practical solutions for environmental challenges.

His notable achievements include significantly improving Environmental Management Plan compliance (from 62% to 86%) at key operations, crafting dust inventories and mitigation strategies for water-stressed environments, leading water use license applications and amendments, conducting due diligence audits, and managing rehabilitation of historically disturbed sites. Oscar has extensive knowledge of South African environmental legislation, including NEMA, NEM: QA, NEM: WA, NWA, MPRDA, and ISO 14001.
